Master Randy Points

Founder of KOMBIDO

Martial arts Master Randy Points began learning and teaching martial arts in 1984. In 1992, he took over as the chief instructor of the American Colleges of Karate in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Over the last 24 years he has taught thousands of students with over 100 of them making it to the level of black belt. He has been a guest instructor at martial arts schools across the country including schools in Seattle, Washington; Los Angeles, California; Richmond, Virginia; Dallas, Texas; Omaha, Nebraska; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; West Haven, Connecticut; and Phoenix, Arizona.

Master Randy was promoted to 5th Degree Black Belt and given the title Master in 1996 by the founder of Aam Ka Jutsu, E.C. McGilvray III. Master Randy would go on to become the last private student of E.C. McGilvray III until the time of his death in 2001. Shortly before his death, Mr. McGilvray awarded Master Randy his 7th degree black belt in Aam Ka Jutsu.

In 2004, Master Randy was invited to be a member of the United States Martial Arts team competing in Athens, Greece in the 2004 World Games. In addition, Master Randy was able to choose two of his most outstanding students to compete with him. The trio received outstanding results by bringing home two Gold medals, three Silver medals, and two Bronze medals. Master Randy was the recipient of a Gold medal in black belt self defense, a Silver medal in multi person attack self defense, and a Bronze medal in advanced black belt self defense. Master Randy was also asked to fill in as a ring judge in the areas of Japanese forms, Chinese forms, weapons, point sparring, and materials breaking.

In the fall of 2004, Master Randy was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame and awarded Master of the Year.

In 2005, Master Randy founded a new style of martial arts known as KOMBIDO.  KOMBIDO is a combination of skills and techniques from many different martial arts styles presented in a format that enhances learning speed and retention. Both hard and soft style skills are taught from a defensive standpoint. The style is based on self competition and teamwork.

Master Randy and his wife, Monica, have four children; Lindsey, Ashton, Randy II, and Trinity and have been married for 10 years. Upon moving to the Plano, Texas area in 2005 they quickly became members of Cross Bend Christian Church and have been involved with several ministries including greeting, youth, children’s, and serving.

Master Randy will be the first to tell you that the true master of all is Jesus Christ. It has long been Master Randy’s dream to combine his skill in teaching the martial arts with his desire to spread Christianity to everyone that he can. By starting each class with a prayer and constantly reminding the students to stay Christ focused and balanced with the Holy Spirit, Master Randy is able to bring Mind, Body, and Spirit together in the best possible martial arts experience possible. His desire is to show everyone that no matter how strong or weak they may feel, they can learn to defend themselves and become very skilled in the martial arts.
