CBCC family,

After some careful shopping, CBCC has determined to change insurances.  This adjustment will be helpful in terms of coverage and in premium cost – we will be able to save a significant amount.

One of the requirements for full coverage is that we have a church Policy to protect children and youth; specifically in the areas of abuse and neglect.

In the past, we have followed a very specific procedure to ensure the safety of our children and youth.  That included criminal background checks and the use of security cameras, among other things.  We did not have a written policy with a procedure on how to respond to an incident outlined.

We now have such a written policy.  Our staff and volunteers will be asked to respond to the policy by signing the Agreement Form and submitting it to be kept on file.

We want to comply for the sake of better insurance coverage, but our major desire is to protect our children & youth.  We want CBCC to always be a safe place and we want safe people to sponsor our events.  We appreciate your prayers for all who work with children and youth and for the whole program, that we will always honor the Lord with purity and truth.

You will agree, we’re certain, that it is wise to be prepared to appropriately handle problems before they occur. That is another key value of this policy.

We invite you to review this policy.  Your comments are welcome.

For Jesus’ sake, Tom Mullenix – on behalf of the elders and staff.
